A third of firms have improved mental health support during Covid-19.
A survey of 2,000 organisations in the UK has shown that more than a third of employers have improved mental health support during Covid.
YouGov completed a survey on behalf of Acas and found that 36% of employers felt their mental health support was improved compared to pre-Covid days:11% that said their mental health support was “a lot better” and 25 per cent that said it was “a little better”. In comparison, 50 per cent said their mental health support had stayed the same, while 9 per cent said it was worse. Another 6 per cent said they did not know.
This survey does appear to focus on whether the employers feel they have improved mental health support rather than what the employee’s perception is. it is also worth bearing in mind that a company’s improvement could be everything from the introduction of a written policy right the way up to costly support packages. All in all, a good thing as awareness and action around mental health at work is a positive thing.
